Count to 10

The news of violence at home, school, hospitals and on the road has become an everyday reality. The purpose of the Count to 10 campaign is twofold:

1. To raise awareness of the harmful effects that uncontrolled anger and violence have on our health (physical and emotional) and on our relationships with others;

2. To share resources and suggestions for positive steps that can be taken in order to keep anger under control and lead calmer, healthier and happier lives.

The website is bilingual in Bulgarian and English – you can visit it at https://www.countto10.bg

Laryngectomee Guide

The Laryngectomee Guide was written by Itzhak Brook MD, Professor Pediatrics, Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington DC, USA.  He says “The Laryngectomy Guide has been helping laryngectomees for several years. It contains information about side effects of radiation and chemotherapy; methods of speaking; airway, stoma, and voice prosthesis care; eating and swallowing; medical, dental and psychological concerns; respiration; anesthesia; and travelling.  The eBooks versions are FREE to all those who need it. It is also available as paperback through Amazon.com.

Dr Brook approached our President, Dimitar Pazardzhikliev МD, to request his assistance in translating the book into Bulgarian. Dr Pazardzhikliev says “When Dr Brook contacted me asking to translate the guide I did not hesitate for a minute, because I know how much we owe to our patients”.

The guide can be downloaded in English here: http://www.entnet.org/content/laryngectomee-guide
